Kathryn Jackson

Consultant

Profile

Kathryn Jackson BA(Hons) CPFA has worked in consultancy for 13 years, supporting finance and data transformation projects in businesses undergoing both operational and strategic change.  Her sector experience spans leisure, hospitality, airports, construction business process outsourcing and financial services.  Her earlier career was spent leading finance teams in GSK and a large multi-site pub company.

Kathryn’s breadth of consulting experience has advanced her understanding of how to optimise finance teams, processes and technology, and this, alongside her own finance functional skill-set, attention to detail and willingness to roll up her sleeves makes Kathryn a true asset to her clients many of whom list in their feedback her commitment, ability to grasp and manage complexity and ambiguity, cheerfulness under pressure and they like the fact that she feels like “one of the team.”

Kathryn’s versatility has seen her perform in consultancy roles where she has delivered projects end-to-end with an involvement in every aspect from RFP to Hyper-care whereas on very large-scale transformations she may be in charge of a particular work-stream; R2R, P2P and BI are particular areas of interest.

Kathryn’s most recent assignment was for a Swiss asset management company.  The brief was to replace an obsolete multi-company, multi-currency finance system and standardise the chart of accounts and finance processes globally.  Kathryn led the project and managed the relationships between Finance, IT PMO and 3rd party vendors.  Particular challenges centred on the 14 interfaces which had to be re-written with no documentation and a new team in place.  Data migration was complex due to the fact that the existing chart of accounts was not consistent across all entities and the new chart of accounts was structured very differently necessitating a multi-dimensional mapping rule-set.  By having a clear data migration strategy and time-line, risks were identified early and Kathryn was able to line up resource, perform dress rehearsals and agree pragmatic contingency options with her client well in advance.

Kathryn qualified as an accountant in 1996.  She also speaks excellent French and Italian.
