A high value retail organisation initially engaged D-Drop consulting to undertake a review of their technology landscape as there was a sense from the senior leadership that it was not able to fully support the strategic growth aspirations.
The initial review consisted of over 20 interviews with different people at all levels of the organisation. This was to get a sense of the current views about the IT service provision within and how it was (or was not) serving the best interests of the organisation.
In conjunction with the above, there was also a detailed technical audit conducted where it soon became clear that the organic and evolving approach to IT over the past few years was not focussed enough on delivering the best outcomes.
We were able to quickly recommend some immediate activities to deliver stability, security and productivity to the wider team whilst at the same time recommending a wider review of the business operations.
This further review was to ensure that the any, more strategic, evolution of the IT environment was aligned to how the business needed to operate, but also to ensure that the organisation took any opportunity to streamline its own processes to ensure maximum efficiency.
